Fredrick Ogenga is an Associate Professor, Media and Security Studies and Director of the Center for Media, Democracy, Peace & Security both at Rongo University. He is also the CEO of the Peacemaker Corps Foundation Kenya. An NGO that builds peace through technology working with the youth. Ogenga is a former Africa Peacebuilding Network Fellow and a Southern Voices Network for Peacebuilding Scholar. He is also a Letsema Visiting Fellow Institute for Pan African thought and Conversation (IPATC), University of Johannesburg and Senior Non Resident Research Fellow at the Institute of Global African Affairs, University of West Indies and IPACT ( University of Johannesburg). Ogenga is the AI and Peacebuilding Lead at Rongo University and former UNDP Fellow, Digital Peacebuilding.

Dr. Lillian Namuma S. Kong’ani
Lilian Namuma S. Kong’ani is currently a Post-Doctoral Fellow, University of Cape Town. She is an alumna fellow at the Mawazo Learning Exchange Programme, Mawazo Institute, Kenya, and the Laureate of the 2022 African Peacebuilding Network of Social Science Research Council Individual Research Fellowship grant. Kong’ani’s research interests span natural resources governance and management, climate change, community development, conflict resolution, peacebuilding, gender mainstreaming, environmental impact assessment, sustainable development, and humanitarian work, among others.

Dr. Joyce Omwoha is a lecturer at the Department of Journalism and Media Studies at The Technical University of Kenya. She holds a PhD in Media Studies from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. Joyce has won international grants and fellowships which have enabled her to carry out research on: Media, Citizenship and Identity, Peacebuilding, Gender Studies, Health Communication and the analysis of the Social Media Culture in Kenya and beyond.

John Mwangi Githigaro, PhD, is an academic based in Nairobi. He was previously a Lecturer in Peace and Conflict Studies at St. Paul’s University, Limuru, Kenya. He holds a PhD in International Relations from the United States International University (USIU-A), Nairobi, Kenya. His research and teaching interests are in the areas of peace, security, and development in the Eastern Africa and Sahel regions.
